Meet our spotlighted Mama of the month: Managing Director of creative content agency Elementary and mum of 2 (going on 3) wonderful girls! She shares her picks from the newest Embrace collection and thoughts on her pregnancy.
Introduce yourself and what you do in a sentence!
I juggle being a mom to 2 (going on 3) wonderful girls with running a creative content agency with my husband and best friend.
"I love the knit dress that I'm wearing because it's versatile enough to be dressed up or down depending on my mood. This pregnancy, I've gravitated towards more stretchy, form fitting pieces as they make me feel more put together and accentuate this cute growing baby belly!"
What does a typical day look like being pregnant? Is there any difference pre-pregnancy?
There's honestly no difference in my day prior to being pregnant and now! I'm up by 6am to get my oldest daughter, Charlie, ready and sent to school. If I can, I nap for a bit before having to wake up my 2nd daughter, Dahlia, to feed and get her ready for kindergarten. Depending on the day it's then emails, calls, or shoots that I have to tend to for work. If it's my turn to pick the kids up, I usually take them to lunch or tea and we work on their homework together before having dinner with the family. My husband and I both love to eat! So we make it a point to go out for meals together without the kids at least once or twice a week.
What are your current must-haves to accompany you throughout your day? E.g. outfits, food & drinks, accessories, people etc
Starting and ending the day with hugs and kisses from my kids is a must. It always puts me in a better mood, and makes any bad day seem slightly more manageable. I'm also never without my phone, Apple Watch and AirPods in my bag so that I can stay on top of work no matter where I am.
What do you do to unwind in your pockets of free time?
These days? Nap! Growing a baby is so tiring! I wish I could say read, but now a days when the kids have gone to bed and I have time to myself, I usually opt for catching up on movies or Netflix.
What brings you joy amidst a busy day?
It's easy for me to find joy in all the small things - a pretty sunrise, a tune I love, a text from friends. But on really really busy days, it's the company I keep that's most important, Surrounding myself with people who bring me joy even while life is moving at breakneck speed makes even the craziest of days feel manageable.
What does the word "Embrace" mean to you?
It means big, warm, fuzzy huggles (hugs + cuddles, according to my kids) that make you feel safe and loved.
Lastly for our #LBCommunity - what is one piece of advice you would give to pregnant / new mommies?
Don't stress yourself out over things beyond your control. Pick your battles and choose to enjoy the moments you have with your little one instead because they really don't stay little for very long.
