Wear the Lace

For our most anticipated collaboration, we reinterpreted iconic, thoughtful features with the distinct style of Indonesian label, TOTON.

We worked with lace and fluid fabrics to create pieces that feel romantic without needing a special reason to wear them.
If sold out online, check in-store at VivoCity & ION Orchard for availability.

Meet The Designer: Toton Januar

The designer behind the Indonesian craft-driven ready-to-wear label, TOTON. Raised by a seamstress, he grew up watching clothes come to life at his mother's sewing table.

For him, TOTON is a reflection of individuality, craftsmanship, and culture. But he believes that culture isn’t just found in traditions or ceremonies. It lives in everyday life—from the local markets to the way people instinctively dress.

Now, TOTON comes together with a brand that shares the same values and vision.

What is lace?

Lace adds that little touch of romance to your outfits. Made with delicate patterns and woven from threads, lace is sometimes done by hand or with machines. Its intricate details—whether floral, geometric, or whimsical—add interesting texture to the look.

Lace has a way of making the garment feel special, so it needs a little extra care. Gentle and careful handling keep it looking beautiful, wear after wear.
HOW TO WASH LACE CLOTHING

Whenever you can, hand-wash your lace in cold water with a gentle detergent.

If you need to use a washing machine, put your lace garment in a mesh laundry bag and choose the gentlest or delicate cycle with cold water only.

Do not wring or twist the lace, as this can stretch or tear the threads.

Avoid soaking lace for long periods, especially if it is colored, to prevent dye from bleeding.

HOW TO DRY LACE CLOTHING
  1. Never put lace in the dryer. Heat and tumbling will damage the fibers.

  2. Lay the lace flat on a clean towel to air-dry. Gently reshape it while it is still damp.

  3. Keep lace out of direct sunlight. Sunlight can cause the fabric to yellow or weaken over time.

HOW TO STORE AND CARE FOR LACE CLOTHING
  1. Make sure your garments are completely dry before storing them.

  2. For delicate lace, fold it carefully and place acid-free tissue paper between the layers to prevent snags and creases. If you have structured lace garments, hang them on padded hangers to help keep their shape.

  3. Store lace in a breathable garment bag to protect it from dust and snags.

  4. Don’t overcrowd your wardrobe, since friction from other clothes can catch or damage the lace.

  5. A steamer is preferred over a traditional iron, as it is gentler on delicate lace. If using an iron, use the lowest heat setting, iron on the reverse side, and place a clean cloth between the iron and the lace for protection.

  6. If a thread snags, do not pull it. Instead, use a needle to gently work it back into place, or bring the garment to a tailor for delicate lace repair.

  7. For stains, blot—do not rub—and treat them as soon as possible. Strong stain removers may damage the delicate fibres.

NOTE: Each design may have specific care needs based on its construction or the fabric blend. Always refer to the care label for detailed instructions, as requirements may vary depending on the material composition.
