Content Creator
Jessica shares about her first moments in becoming a content creator.
Tell us about your first content creation collaboration.
My first collab was from blogging as I was very active in it. My first paid blog post was approached by a social media agency. I was very surprised as it has never come to mind to monetise my blog. I even skipped my SPM results day just to attend an event to get paid for writing a blog post. I then started getting more followers on Instagram, which led me to accept more collabs from brands. I started getting more collab requests from jewelry and skincare brands such as Clinique and Laneige. I was very honoured by these opportunities.

How did you and your content grow through the years?
My dressing style has revolutionised as I was really into the kawaii, Japanese fashion style back then. I started experimenting more styles when I was in college, changing many different hair colours and another side of fashion. Once I started getting more travelling opportunities, I focused more on curating a travelling feed on Instagram which helped me garnered more followers.

What are the key challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?
Especially now, I am not only focusing on content creation but also managing a cake business. I would need to juggle between my influencer work and cake business. It can get tiring when the cake business gets overwhelming and I would have less time to create content on my social media platforms. Therefore, time management plays an important role.
