Meet The Designer: Toton Januar
The designer behind the Indonesian craft-driven ready-to-wear label, TOTON. Raised by a seamstress, he grew up watching clothes come to life at his mother's sewing table.
For him, TOTON is a reflection of individuality, craftsmanship, and culture. But he believes that culture isn’t just found in traditions or ceremonies. It lives in everyday life—from the local markets to the way people instinctively dress.
Now, TOTON comes together with a brand that shares the same values and vision.

Founded in Jakarta in 2012 by Toton Januar and Haryo Balitar.
TOTON reinterprets Indonesian heritage for the modern woman. Bringing techniques and textiles once reserved for folk and ceremonial clothing into everyday wear.
In 2016, TOTON made history as the first Indonesian label to win the International Woolmark Prize, earning global recognition for its contemporary take on local heritage. That devotion to heritage and culture continues to shape TOTON's work today. Celebrated on the international stage. Inspired by home.
