How do you practice self-love?

For me, being comfortable in my own skin is about a journey in learning how to accept myself, with all my highs as well as my imperfections and flaws. I love myself because I believe I am a constant work in progress, one who is learning and growing every single day.

What is one challenge you’ve faced in being comfortable in your own skin?

The moment I peg unrealistic expectations on myself or compare myself to others, (especially when I was younger) was when I didn’t love myself and was in constant self-doubt. I remember when I was 25 years old, when I wanted to have a child, and the doctors told me I would never get pregnant naturally - and the feeling of not being like every other woman or not capable enough to have a baby naturThis helped me be more positive throughout my IVF journey. Over time I began to accept the body I had, and love it for going through so much in order to produce my two beautiful children.

What is one thing you appreciate the most in your life that has helped you in this process?

The thing I appreciate most in my life, is my journey of being the most self-conscious, geeky kid to becoming one that embraces all the highs and lows that life throws at her. It has given me great empathy and channeled my passion as a life coach, to really care about people transforming their lives and being the best version of themselves. I am glad I had the rough, tougher patches and I appreciate every single scar I have, every painful experience and sad moment, never once regretting it. Because a growth mindset envelopes it all, sees the silver lining and continues to adapt. That is the greatest gift towards self-love.

" A growth mindset envelopes it all, sees the silver lining and continues to adapt. That is the greatest gift towards self-love."

If you had to pick a Staple piece for 3 occasions in your life, what would they be?

My favourite piece is the Amita Tailored Shorts. Anyone who knows me, knows I live in mine! I wear it in the day with my sneakers and a T-shirt, and throw a jacket over in the evenings for a more sophisticated look. To elevate the look, I pair it with a cropped top and high heels which takes me from day to night!

Lastly, what is one advice you would give our #LBCommunity to love themselves?

To truly love yourself, shed your inhibitions, accept the imperfections, embrace change, and do the things that make you feel good.
