Share with us highlights of your pregnancy journey
The physical aspects of pregnancy are no joke. But three things I remember fondly from my pregnancy with my baby boy. One is hearing his heartbeat for the first time. Second is I felt him move for the first time. It was amazing. The other thing is that as he grew, I felt his hiccups and he also became more and more active. He would give my belly a real workout. Those are my memories, and I still cherish them.
How was your experience being a first time mom?
Embracing motherhood is a life-changing experience. Once you become a mom, you are no longer on your priority list. At least for the first one year of the baby’s birth, you hardly have time to take care of your own needs and take care of yourself. But I know that my baby is always there to remind me that he is waiting for my presence. This is one of the best experiences for me. I like the feeling that there is someone who truly needs me.

What’s the hardest part being a first time mom?
The hardest part was when breastfeeding was over. After 3 months of breastfeeding my baby, I found out I had Galactocele. I was put on medication that would filter into my breast milk, and we didn’t want the baby to get it.
So I had to stop breastfeeding. I was devastated. It sent me into a horrible postpartum depression. I felt like my body failed me and failed my baby. To all the moms out there, do not be like me. While breastfeeding is great for babies, it's not always possible and never easy. It’s totally fine to feed your baby with formula. And that’s Tyrese. He is a beautiful 8 month old toddler, a heart of gold and we adore each other.

What’s the best part being a first time mom?
The best part being a first time mother is that my son has enhanced my life in so many ways. He taught me to be more patient, more loving and much more appreciative of every moment we have together as a family. This has made me a much happier person.
